Volunteers are a vital and valued part of Temple Buddhist Center. We are grateful for all the volunteers choose to share their time and talent with the temple.
Our volunteers serve in a wide variety of roles throughout the temple. They provide essential support to the temple’s mission through hands-on service and leadership roles.
The list below includes most of our major volunteer roles. Please note that not all are open at all times. To learn what positions are currently available, please contact us at Ronn@templebuddhistcenter.org to inquire, and a staff member will follow up with you.

A great way to help and get to know others!
There are many opportunities to become involved at the Temple Buddhist Center, and one of the most rewarding is volunteer service. Within the walls of the TBC, for example, we welcome assistance greeting and directing folks as they arrive for the Sunday or Saturday Service. There are also behind-the-scenes opportunities, such as setting up the altar, and arranging mats and cushions for meditation.
If you have general questions about volunteering, please contact Ronn Pawo McLane, Executive Director (firstname.lastname@example.org). For questions about specific volunteer tasks, please contact the person whose name is provided in that sign-up space.
The Temple Buddhist Center is also involved in volunteer service to our regional community. Find out about the TBC’s rewarding Prison Dharma program as well as our participation in other regional organizations, such as Harvesters and Banneker Buddies, a one-on-one elementary school reading program, administered through the Kansas City Public School District
