Dzogchen Meditation Retreat with Janet Nima Taylor (Venerable Urgyen Nima)
Dzogchen is the practice of awakening to the Natural Great Perfection
We are all innately enlightened--we only have to awaken and realize this incredible truth. This is the teaching of the innate Great Perfection--Dzogchen. Having studied and practiced Dzogchen with her teacher, Lama Surya Das, since 1998, Ani Nima joyfully looks forward to leading her inaugural Midwest Dzogchen retreat.
No prior experience is necessary. These teachings are straightforward and very direct. The key requirement is to come to the teachings with an open heart and mind, willing to try them out for yourself. The retreat will include Noble Silence (giving each person space to be together but also open up to that sacred space within), sitting and walking meditation, chanting and teaching on Dzogchen. Each retreatant will have an opportunity for a private interview, as is the tradition in Buddhism. We will also have a optional session on the energizing Tibetan Yoga each morning. There will also be plenty of time for walking in nature and a reading room with pithy Dzogchen writings.
Registration fees are inclusive of accommodation and vegetarian meals for this four-day retreat. Additional discounts are available for students and people in need. Registration does not include compensation for the teacher, which will be accepted in the traditional form of dana (voluntary donation) in honor of the teachings.
A STANDARD package includes accommodation in a Shared Room. If you prefer a private room (not shared) you may choose to upgrade to a Private Room during the registration process. Payment may be made at the time of booking or you may choose to pay a deposit and be invoiced for the remainder of your retreat fees.
